Ram Quarter is an exciting new residential, retail and leisure destination in the heart of Wandsworth. The scheme provides 338 new apartments in the first phase, which also incorporates the iconic Grade II listed buildings that formed the historic brewery associated with the site.
There has been a brewery on-site since at least 1533, and it was most recently associated with Young’s and Co who took over in 1831. During the development period, former Young’s brewer John Hatch has continued to brew ale in a nanobrewery within a retained area of the site.
The integration with the heritage of the site has been very important in the development of Ram Quarter, with nine new brick-clad blocks woven into the historic fabric of the site via a series of interlinked public spaces and commercial areas which have opened up the riverfront of the Wandle.
We have been able to use the full breadth of our in-house capabilities to deliver the scheme in just over two years, and our site team was supported by our in-house manufacturing company Paddington who delivered the entire window package.
To meet the challenging timescales, we achieved an extraordinary peak rate of 24 completed apartments handed over per week.
